Located on the East side of Verdugo Rd. Montecito Park is named for the large community park at it's entrance.  This pleasantly hilly residential community contains some of the area's finest residences and some of it's most charming bungalows. 

I often joke that if you chuck a stone, hard, in any direction, you'll hit a Realtor's house.  Now, why do you think that is?

A neighborhood highlight is the home owners association's annual block party in September, right after Labor Day.  Several blocks are sealed off and residents gather together to eat In-N-Out burgers, share homemade deserts, listen to local guys play in a band and climb the rock wall. 

On the West side of Verdugo Rd. there are a couple of notable establishments.  La Cabanita is a very popular regional Mexican Restaurant  with killer margaritas and an awesome mole.  Schreiner's Fine Sausages specializes in German cured meats and sausages and Berolina's has the most amazing breads and pastries. Franks Famous Kitchen has an outstanding house salad with a balsamic vinegar dressing and their chili is pretty darn good, too.  And, Montrose Shopping Park with lovely shops, restaurants and services, is just a pleasant stroll away.
